This instruction is now offered for individual students who feel they are not confident enough to pass the shooting proficiency requirements of the NC Concealed Handgun Class. For most shooters, two hours are more than adequate to get a new, inexperienced shooter comfortable with the firearm so they can pass the North Carolina Concealed Handgun Class Shooting Proficiency Test 100%.
This instruction is given at an outdoor range setting and is always provided in the company of an additional female, usually my wife.

What to bring:
- Handgun and 100 bullets for your handgun (Call if you do not have a firearm)
- hearing protection and eye protection
- Loose fiting clothing will allow you to be more comfortable on the range.
- You will need to wear a hat on the range. This can be a visor, ballcap or other type headgear that will help prevent hot shells from the shooter beside you landing in your face and eyes. If you have ever seen someone react when hot brass lands between their glasses and eyes, you will understand the necessity for this safety measure.
What to expect: The following will be covered in this class:
- Handgun safety rules
- Parts of a handgun (both semi-automatic and revolver)
- Cleaning suggestions
- How to determine the type of handgun you should buy (I don't sell guns nor am I affiliated with any gun dealers.)
- Grip, stance, presentation (drawing your gun from a holster)
- Shooting drills with Air Soft pistols, green gas blow back pistol, and .22 Cal. pistol.
What to expect with the Shooting:
- Shooting will begin with an Air Soft pistol that shoots 6mm plastic BBs. Here you will learn the basics without being distracted by the recoil of the handgun, and at a minimum of risk to yourself or others. When the student is comfortable with the Air Soft, you will move up to a GAS blow back pistol that is as realistic as you can get without actually shooting a real gun. The operation of the GAS gun we use is very, very similar to a Sig Sauer P226, the same gun used by the Navy Seals. You will then be able to safetly shoot a REAL gun that fires .22 cal rimfire bullets. Yes, a .22 cal can be deadly!
- The final shooting will be the same course that is shot in the North Carolina Concealed Handgun Class. (You shoot 40 bullets at a large target...see photos on this website...and must hit the target 28 times.) After you pass this shooting proficiency, you may take OUR concealed handgun class at a later date and you will not be required to shoot the proficiency course again. To take advantage of this offer, after completetion of the GALS class you must take the next available Concealed Handgun Class offered by Concealed Handgun Carry Inc.
This is an intensive class with handgun safety the major issue. While intensive, we promise that you will have fun and you will leave with sound fundamentals of a new skill upon which you can build according to your desire. A beginning handgun class of this depth has never been taught in this area. Now is your chance to be part of this new and exciting adventure. Warren vs District of Columbia
Two women were upstairs in a townhouse when they heard their roommate, a third woman, being attacked downstairs by intruders. They phoned the police several times and were assured that officers were on the way. After about 30 minutes, when their roommate's screams had stopped, they assumed the police had finally arrived. When the two women went downstairs they saw that in fact the police never came, but the intruders were still there. As the Warren court graphically states in the opinion: ``For the next fourteen hours the women were held captive, raped, robbed, beaten, forced to commit sexual acts upon each other, and made to submit to the sexual demands of their attackers.'' The three women sued the District of Columbia for failing to protect them, but D.C.'s highest court exonerated the District and its police, saying that it is a ``fundamental principle of American law that a government and its agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any individual citizen.'' Warren v. District of Columbia, 444 A.2d 1 (D.C. Ct. of Ap., 1981)
The Warren vs District of Columbia is just one of many similar court decisions in recent years. Our founding fathers knew government could not always protect the people. That is one reason we have the Second Ammendment...The Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
